Peng delivered a speech at the T-EDGE Conference.

BEIJING, December 5 (TMTPOST) – Peng Shuang, the co-founder and vice president of product of Xiaoice Company, delivered a keynote speech titled "Innovative Future of AIGC" at the 2023 T-EDGE Conference last Saturday.

During the speech, Peng reviewed the historical changes of the relationships between humans and the digital world, and offered insights into the innovative opportunities emerging in the era of AI.

Peng said that each past technological revolution brings about changes in the relationships between people and the world, as well as between people and knowledge.

From portals and search engines to recommendation engines, each technological advancement in the past has altered the way people interact with the digital world. "In this transformative process, the relationship between people and the world or between people and knowledge in the digital world changes from a relatively active relationship to a passive one," said Peng.

With the advent of the AI era, the relationship between people and the world is poised for another transformation, providing vast space for innovation.

"The relationship between people and the world will undergo significant changes at every node and in every aspect, bringing tremendous opportunities for innovation," said Peng.

Peng believed that AI has become a creator of content, and interactive interfaces will become more human-like due to the empowerment of AI.

She introduced the concept of AI-generated Content (AIGC), emphasizing that AI is no longer just an auxiliary tool but has become a creator and collaborator in content creation. According to Peng, interactive interfaces will become simpler or more natural, making the interaction relationship closer to that between people.

Peng said that in the new AI era, opportunities for innovation abound. From the fundamental technological architecture to the reconstruction of ecosystems, many aspects will be innovated. He encouraged people to explore together, pushing innovation to its limits and witnessing the bright future of the artificial intelligence era.

Peng also shared the specific practices and explorations of Xiaoice in the AIGC field.

By launching the AI singer voice synthesis platform, Xiaoice collaborated with music professionals, providing a new creative paradigm for music creators. "The AI singer's performance can reach the level of professional human singers. Many lyricists and composers feel that the creative ceiling has been greatly raised, and the time and energy spent in the creative process have been significantly reduced," said Peng.

In addition, innovation in voice technology has also become a focus of Xiaoice. Employing more natural computer voice technology, Xiaoice aims to surpass current technological levels, pursuing higher audio quality and consistency. Peng believed that this is crucial for building a framework where virtual and digital beings exist consistently across different platforms, enabling cross-platform communication.

In the research of digital and virtual beings, Xiaoice pays close attention to the authenticity of content creation and interaction, including the consistency of digital beings in various scenarios. Peng believed that these details determine whether Xiaoice's virtual and digital beings can exist across different scenes. However, this aspect has not been adequately emphasized in current AI systems.

"We are still in the early days of the AI era, but this is also the best time for us to do innovation. Let's work together," said Peng at the end of his speech.
