开发ChatGPT的OpenAI公司首席执行官 山姆·奥尔特曼（Sam Altman）也在一夜之间名声大噪，成为全球范围内当之无愧的科技领军人物。

1985年4月， 奥尔特曼在美国芝加哥出生。他8岁生日那天，父母送给他人生第一台电脑。他从此沉迷于编程，还学会了拆电脑。

这台电脑也改变了他的一生。到了16岁的时候，他向父母坦诚出柜。

He told The New Yorker that having his own computer helped him with his sexual orientation.“Growing up gay in the Midwest in the 2000s is not the greatest experience you can have,” he told The New Yorker. “Finding chat rooms on AOL was very important. Keeping secrets is bad, even when you are eleven or twelve.”

After seven years, Loopt failed to thrive, and American financial technology and bank holding company, Green Dot Corporation, bought the ventureout for over €40 million.

Despite its flop, Loopt allowed Altman to make a name for himself in Silicon Valley.
