“沪币法外之地”奥乐齐,9块9外也有烦恼

“被上海的物价震撼到,我的消费观崩塌了……”

“在上海如果不努力,真的连沙拉都吃不起……”

小红书上,关于在沪消费这件事,大家的共同的感受就是“贵”“很贵”“非常贵”。

\n

寸土寸金的上海,似乎买什么都很贵,甚至出现了一个新词:“沪币”。“1沪币=3人民币=9东北币”的说法也在网上很流行。

\n

但就是有这么一家超市,以一顺溜令人“眼睛瞪得像铜铃”的低价大杀四方,它就是在欧洲被誉为“穷鬼超市”的奥乐齐(ALDI),在上海成为了“沪币法外之地”。

\n

500毫升52度的白酒售价仅为9.9元;500毫升的黄酒售价仅为5.9元;100g的洗面奶售价仅为9.9元;其他便宜到令人发指的产品还包括9.9元的沐浴露、19.9元的奥尔良大烤鸡、9.9元的悠白零蔗糖原味酸奶100克x3杯;1.9元的冰杯等等。惹得一群消费者惊呼:“9块9还要什么自行车?!”

而就在不久前,奥乐齐还在上海五角场某门店开展了“9.9元也能要自行车”的主题活动。当日单笔线下订单实付金额满390元后加购店内任意9.9元低价商品,就能获得自行车一辆。活动当天,80辆永久牌限量版联名自行车在短短两小时内被抢兑一空。

之所以格外强调奥乐齐的“沪币”价值,这是因为奥乐齐目前只在上海地区进行连锁发展。截至2024年8月底,奥乐齐门店数量为57家。2023年奥乐齐销售额同比增长33.3%,门店数同比增加56.3%。在消费降级的当下,这可以说是一份相当不错的成绩单。

面对极度内卷的市场竞争,奥乐齐是如何演绎自己“穷鬼超市”的价值的?它相比于山姆、盒马等有什么不同点?“穷鬼超市”又是否能靠低价一招致胜呢?

01 低价之王

\n

奥乐齐在上海的打天下与其“价格屠夫”的身份密不可分。

\n

然而许多人并不知道的是,奥乐齐最初进军中国市场时,心里却并不是这么想的。

\n

起初,奥乐齐在德国及欧洲大本营,最早的确是以低价著称。根据Wolfe Research数据显示,在美国休斯敦、芝加哥等市场,奥乐齐的售价比沃尔玛低15%左右。

\n

2017年4月,奥乐齐趁着消费升级的浪潮正式进军中国市场,率先通过线上天猫旗舰店为中国消费者提供一系列进口产品。与在欧洲经营时的评平价策略不同,奥乐齐在中国售卖的商品价格不菲,目标客群定位为中产阶级。两年后,奥乐齐在上海开设门店,继续在线下为中产提供社区精品超市和社区食堂。

也就是说,在欧洲身为“穷鬼超市”的奥乐齐,原本在中国市场想做的是中产阶级的生意。

\n

结果,奥乐齐的如意算盘落了空。进军中国线下商超市场没几年,市场就变了天。

\n

随着国内经济环境逐步步入新常态,消费降级转眼取代了消费升级,成为了广大人民群众的共同理念,并且延续至今。在需求端萎靡的情况下,站在供给端的商家不得不陷入内卷的无限竞争之中。山姆和盒马为“移山价”打得如火如荼,似乎旁人都插不上脚。

但奥乐齐的出现,似乎让这个战局中又添上了别样的色彩。

\n

从今年8月底开始,奥乐齐推出了“总有新低价”活动,对更多涵盖生鲜蔬果、酒水饮料、家清日用等多个品类的产品进行降价,最高降幅近40%,降价周期持续6周以上。界面新闻由奥乐齐方面获悉,进入今年以来,奥乐齐降价产品累计已近300款,同时,奥乐齐还不断拓新其9.9元低价系列,目前已有超500款产品标价在9.9元或以下,占全店产品数量1/4左右。

傍晚六点半是每日奥乐齐的打折时间节点。每当此时,极致性价比的故事就被演绎到了极致。随着时间的推移,折扣力度不断加大,前来捡便宜的消费者使得门店门庭若市。

\n

称奥乐齐是外资商超在上海的低价之王,并不为过。

\n

上海连锁经营研究所在2022年有研究指出,“在上海市场奥乐齐所在的区域里,中高端消费者去Costco和山姆的频率在减少,次数在下降。”

\n

消费者在逛奥乐齐的时候最看重的是什么?相较其他商超巨头,奥乐齐的优势在哪里呢?新消费101采访了几位曾在奥乐齐购物的消费者。

\n

“应该算是山姆的平替。”这是曼曼对奥乐齐的最大感受,“我们现在家里是两个人,山姆的包装对我们来说太大了,家里冰箱也囤不了这么多货。而且对于没有尝试过山姆的人来说,一旦踩雷,一买买一大包,浪费了还是挺心疼的。在奥乐齐买就没有这个问题。”以小包装为主的奥乐齐显然更符合中国宝宝体质。

Jessie补充表达了奥乐齐对她的性价比要点。“一个是免费会员制。奥乐齐的会员只要自己免费注册一下就好了,消费都可以积分,到时候换优惠券;另外一个是营业时间更加友好。现在家门口的奥乐齐营业时间早晚分别是7点和22点,比盒马更长,感觉是为我这种社畜量身定制的,早餐和夜宵都包圆了。”

奥乐齐的配送速度大约为60分钟一单,相较于盒马平均30分钟一单的配送时长,奥乐齐并不占优势。但是奥乐齐的优势在于就在家门口,面积不大,逛起来方便,这样就增加了线下客流,还变相压降了线上配送的成本。

做与山姆错配的小包装;做与盒马错配的营业时间;奥乐齐的思路是在低价之余,着力于发挥对手方空白细分项的优势。

02 应抠尽抠

\n

奥乐齐做的是极致性价比,那么极致性价比的尽头是什么?答案是:极致的自有品牌。

\n

山姆的自有品牌Member's Mark占销售额的1/3以上;而在奥乐齐,合计自有品牌占比高达90%。奥乐齐的自有品牌有很多种,包括超值系列、 ALDI Delight你的零食乐园、谷悦仁家、Urban Eaters你的城市厨房、Aldi Bakery你的烘焙大师等,对应的分别是日用品、零食、调味品、熟食、烘焙面包等细分板块。

这些品类有什么共通点呢?答案是:日常刚需奥乐齐单店的平均SKU维持在约2000个,精简SKU意味着奥乐齐打造商品的劲头都用在了有限的刀刃上,“操刀”更为精准。奥乐齐的SKU集中于生活必需品类,也就是说,一旦消费者认可,需求度和复购率足以得到保障。

极致性价比的尽头是极致的自有品牌,而极致的自有品牌意味着极致的成本控制。

\n

奥乐齐英国分公司前“一把手”保罗·福里(Paul Foley)在接受采访时曾经表示,对于折扣零售商来说,成本是最重要的,甚至比销售还重要。“奥乐齐的成本是普通超市的一半。一个运营良好的普通超市需要8%的销售额来维持店铺层面的运营,而ALDI只需要4%。”

首先是成本的绝对大头:房租。

\n

奥乐齐每个店铺面积控制在500-800平米,最大不超过1500平米,精简装修,陈列简单。在选址上,奥乐齐也并没有选择所谓的CBD、一线商圈等黄金地段,而是主攻住户密度较大的社区。这些地段普遍居民客流充足、对商品单价敏感度较高但房租却相对可控。这一点思维和日本连锁“穷鬼西餐”品牌萨莉亚不谋而合。

其次,奥乐齐的人员颇为精简。不设新闻部门、公关部门,不做市场调研,广告投入少。根据招商证券今年发布的零售业报告显示,人力成本仅占奥乐齐销售额的4%左右,而普通超市占比一般在10%~16%。

\n

甚至一些在旁人看来可以算作鸡毛蒜皮的小事,在奥乐齐这里也是做到了不放过每一个细节。

\n

可以堆叠摆放的纸板箱子能够最大程度利用空间,节省员工拆包和上货的时间;运用电子价格标签,实时调整商品价格,并在促销时自动变为显眼的颜色,提升效率。

\n

这年头,商家和消费者一样,应抠尽抠。

\n

事物总有两面性。看起来占据不少天时地利人和优势的奥乐齐,却也有着自己的烦恼。

\n

03 灵魂抉择

\n

自有商品各家都有,如何才能抠中求抠,做到绝对的低价?无非是做深做足供应链,以极致供应链来对抗极致性价比。

\n

与所有强调全球供应链的大型商超巨头例如沃尔玛、开市客一样,奥乐齐也有自己的全球供应链。但随着中国业务的深入,奥乐齐逐步转向与更多的中国供应商合作,一来降低成本,二来也能打造更多因地制宜的商品类别。例如,奥乐齐曾经与某本土调味品供应商合作,共同开发了一款低盐酱油。

需要注意的是,无论是合作还是自有供应链,规模效应是议价权的最重要砝码。目前,奥乐齐仅在上海地区开设门店,区域较为集中,本身就丧失了一部分供应商。至于57家的门店数量,虽然不算少,但鉴于奥乐齐单店的面积较小,可覆盖送货范围也相对有限。如果没有足够的规模效应,在山姆、盒马、开市客等对手的强有力竞争中,奥乐齐是否能拿到足够的议价权需要打上一个大大的问号。

除此以外,9块9当然是人人都喜欢。但与之对应的,网络上对奥乐齐的各种测评已经四起。

\n

“白酒难喝,就是吹出来的,喝了一瓶,晚上睡觉头疼。”

\n

尽管消费者从理性的角度明白无法以99元的标准去要求一瓶9.9元的白酒,但潜意识里却又会以高标准严要求来测评9块9的产品。一开始的时候人人都会为9块9叫好,但时间长了以后,大家对“质价比”的要求就会水涨船高,这反倒将成为奥乐齐不得不面对的“不公平”待遇。

低价当然是最强利器。但假如被消费者定义为“不值得”的低价,那么逻辑线就无法成立了。除此之外,假如奥乐齐一直以9块9的面目示人,无疑将会固化其在消费者心中的“穷鬼超市”形象,那么即便之后经济周期有望回归正轨,早年奥乐齐想要成就的中产社区超市依然将会成为一道坎。

奥乐齐已经在战略上选择过打脸一次自己,是否会有第二次呢?如果有第二次,会像第一次一样顺利吗?这不得不说是一个灵魂抉择。

\n

对于奥乐齐的当下,如果能继续搞定供应链和成本端,做大做强“穷鬼超市”的名号,将无疑更能迎合目前消费者对低价这一简单粗暴的要求。毕竟,没有年轻人会拒绝9块9的诱惑。

\n

但放眼未来,是要驻足在上海大本营继续深耕,还是延伸至全国?是要一门心思继续9块9扩大战,还是在“中产超市”和“穷鬼超市”之间做好平衡?这都是市场留给奥乐齐的课题。
